Aberystwyth Town will be hoping for a bit of festive cheer on Boxing Day as Bala Town visit Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for the final match of 2024.
2024 has not been an overly kind year for the Black and Greens and the team do come into this match at the foot of the JD Cymru Premier table. However, there have been a few of highlights during the last 12 months which are worth celebrating this festive season; the 3-0 victory against Pontypridd United back in April which secured the Seasiders JD Cymru Premier status for a 33rd consecutive season and the penalty shootout victory over Cardiff City in the Nathaniel MG Cup Semi-Final in April being standouts.
The latter does mean that Town fans can enter 2025 with a cup final to look forward to. Newtown’s Latham Park will be the venue for Aber’s first ever Nathaniel MG Cup final on 28th February.
Bala Town are this years Boxing Day visitors and they come into this match sitting in mid-table and having experienced some real highs and lows in recent weeks. On 4th December they beat reigning champions The New Saints at Maes Tegid, only to exit the Welsh Cup the following week at JD Cymru South outfit Caerau Ely. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. Bala won the opening encounter at Maes Tegid by three goals to nil back in September.
Matchday tickets are available by cash or card at the turnstiles. Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for 2024/5 are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free.
