MATCH PREVIEW: TREF ABERYSTWYTH TOWN V TREF CAERNARFON TOWN

Aberystwyth Town have a first home league fixture in four weeks this Saturday, when Caernarfon Town visit Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for the latest Cymru Premier matchday.

The Black and Greens will be looking to recreate the performance from the reverse fixture back in October, which was arguably Aber’s standout result of the season so far; a 4-1 victory at The Oval thanks to Niall Flint (2), Jonathan Evans & Louis Bradford.

Saturday’s opponents come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Connahs Quay on Tuesday evening; and are in a mixed run of form having won one, drawn two and lost two from their last 5 league games. Richard Davies’ side do still sit in 6th position however, and have accumulated 25 points from 17 league games so far this season. Zack Clarke is their top scorer with 7 goals, whilst Louis Lloyd has also contributed six.

The visitors have an abundance of former Seasiders in their ranks. Matty Jones spent five years with his hometown club between 2017 and 2022 before departing for Newtown, moving onto Caernarfon this season. Paulo Mendes wore Black and Green between 2018 and 2020, whilst Steff Edwards had two spells at the club between 2010-11 and 2018-2020. Forwards Adam Davies and Darren Thomas also spent time in Ceredigion; Davies between 2020-2021 and Thomas back in 2015.

Matchday tickets are available by cash or card at the turnstiles. Admission prices at Aberystwyth University Park Avenue for 2024/5 are set at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions, £2 for Secondary School age kids, and Primary School and younger are free.
